Hello my name is Horst, but here I'm going to use the nickname Sauerländer.
I'm married, almost 58 yo, my family consists out of one wife, three dogs, three horses, three sheeps and two cats.
When I'm not taking care of my family above, I like to got hunting in the Sauerland.
The Sauerland is the area in Germany where I was born and where I grew up. My heart still belongs to the Sauerland!
Because of working reasons I moved west, I'm living about 30 KM north of Dortmund, since 25 years.
I was driving Landrover for a long time:
Started with a used red Defender 90, 300 TDI, then a used green 110 Tds, sold this truck and bought, in a moment of mental derangement, a used Mitsubishi L200.
After 3 month, missing the Td5, I bought a used black Discovery 2 Td5.
One year later I sold the Discovery and I bought a used Defender 130 Td5. I kept this truck almost 13 years and 300.000km.
I did every job on the truck on my own, even an overhaul of the transmissions or a change of a cylinder head on a Td5.
My current truck is a Toyota FJ Cruiser. ( And what ever personal opinions may tell, Toyota builds good Trucks)
I'm planning to buy a used or a new Trailmaster in the next weeks. I was thinking about buying a new Landcruiser, but after the export stop to Europe, the prices went up and the LC 250 got really expensive.
Hope to meet a lot of nice people here and please don't hesitate, I guess I'm ok to answere technical questions even if I do not own a Grenadier yet.
