Hi All,

Thought i would introduce myself.

I'm Murray, the owner of Trig Point. We make Ute canopies and Trays in Melbourne Australia.
I picked up our Quartermaster in January and have just finished our prototype canopy.
Alloy rock sliders are currently being tested for it and have a few more parts in the works.

So far I'm absolutely loving the Quartermaster.
Pleasure to drive on road and bloody capable off-road.

Looking forward to getting it out more as the build comes together!

Nice.
From a designer manufacturer viewpoint, (and I assume a positive answer given it’s built like a tractor) how do you think it will go in terms of chassis stress ala Navara/triton given the tray is well past the wheels?

I hope you do well with this and looking forward to what other things you have in the pipeline.
Don’t be afraid to theow a link up.

I assume the cutaway on the corners is to give more corner clearance, although the bottom bar looks a bit restrictive?

Yeah we spend alot of time crawling under utes of all shapes and sizes. The thickness and size of the chassis under the ineos is bigger than any other of the similar size utes
The ineos rear wheels are actually further back under the tray than most other dual cabs

Although pictures of bent utes get shared around the internet alot, it is actually very rare.
It takes a way overloaded ute or a major accident. Often both at the same time.

Either way, I certainly can't ever see this happening with the ineos!

Yeep, the cut away toolboxes and tapered rear bar is to keep the canopy from dragging offroad.

Some great work there.

Just to help answer the question of chassis strength the Ineos chassis is massive, and on top of that it is hydroformed.
Hydroformed chassis are significantly stronger than conventional pressed chassis of the same size, and far more durable, resistant to work hardening and stress fractures over time.
For example a dual cab 79 series with similar overhangs has a conventional pressed chassis that is significantly smaller than an Ineos chassis.
For limited runs less than 2000 items hydroformed can be economical as there is less tooling required, but for a production vehicle such as an Ineos or a Mercedes Benz G Wagon another vehicle with a hydroformed chassis, the chassis production cost is about 5 times higher, as the conventional press tooling would have paid for it self at that 2000 production number, but the hydroformed chassis strength durability advantages are significant.
There is a lot of hidden quality in the Ineos Grenadier and Quartermaster vehicles.

Love the look and welcome. We have some rabid fans of Ineos who are willing to share feedback, thoughts and concerns. If you ever have a question or thoughts, please share.
