Better than I thought, do diff locks impact it?

Be interesting to see what the official figures are for the petrol version. Maybe 20% more fuel?
Pleased I’ve gone for the N1 version at £290 per year road tax. That’s a saving of £3225 over 6 years

Interesting!

My order summary says for my specific config (diesel):
Kraftstoffverbrauch – kombiniert (WLTP) 11,2 l/100km
CO₂-Emissionen – kombiniert (WLTP) 295 g/km

The fine print at the bottom of the document says:
Nutzlast
getestet

So they obviously take into account the _specific_ config, and, as it's a utility, these are the values with 28% payload.

It would be interesting to know where the difference to the basic value (10.5l/100km) comes from, since it is a quite basic utility with Bridgestones. Maybe it's really the difflocks?

That’s about 30% more fuel use on the petrol. Went Past a shell garage today with petrol at £1.51/L and diesel at £1.75 /L although it does vary. So roughly 13.7% cheaper petrol over diesel. Wonder how long this price variance will last in the U.K. Are there big differences in petrol and diesel prices in other countries. And how much more do diesel engines cost to service over a petrol engine. Wondering whether long term running costs will be much different between the two engines taking everything into account?

Right now in Brisbane diesel is around AUD$2.21 a litre compared to $1.62 a litre for 91 ron / $1.82 for 98 ron

That’s quite a difference. Certainly in the U.K. the disparity between petrol and diesel prices seems to get wider.

I just used a fuel finder app and best for premium unleaded nearby is AUD$1.83 (wifes car) and Best for Premium Diesel is AUD$2.18 (my car) So 19% higher
I haven't run a diesel and petrol in the same car so no idea what the difference is in service costs so I just rang 3 different BMW service centres
The first two actual BMW dealers had no idea what or why I was asking even though I tried to explain it to them several times.
I said I am buying a vehicle that has B57 & B58 engine options and I am trying to decide which one.
They both said " no there aren't any with that option"
Finally rang an independent service centre that specialises in BMW and he was fantastic.
He said they are almost exactly the same price with the B57 being a few dollars cheaper than the B58.
He said the B58 doesn't like poor quality fuel so always use high octane premium.
BMW use 30,000km oil change intervals and he said that causes sludge and oil leak problems, he recommends 15,000 km oil changes at most.
Recommended the Diesel in a 4WD and the Petrol in a sedan and his personal preference was for the petrol. However he is only used to BMW tune.
Had never heard of the Grenadier but was already googling it before I hung up

Here in our village Diesel was at €1,67 yesterday. :)

(It is crazy to be happy about such prices ...)
