This is a Q&A on modification capabilities - bicycle stands etc.
Q1 - elevated roof? . Not possible as of now. Due to body stiffness there are a set of reinforcements built in to B, C pillars. Some companies doing resarch on how to do this - but as of now there is no solution.
Q2 - what can be modified to modify the vehicle as a camper with or without removing rear seats, - 2 seater utility. what ist the usable space? - Metric use between 150 / 180 centimetres, - he remained vague the 2 seater is better for more camp equipment - he also said equipment has been "drawn" - means CAD but not yet been built. No more on that.
Q3: What about bicycle carrier? A There is already an extension for the Tow ball system available - to allow the Spare wheel being mounted at its place and bicycles can be carried at a rear mounting place.
Q4 Roof rack? There are already several available, the one mounted here is from FrontRunner in variable length- Matzker is developing one on its own, as low as possible to minimize wind noise - and mentioned the difference of static and dynamic load - means dynamic what you can transport on the roof while in motion - this is 150kgs - static 450kg vehicle in stand still.
Q5 Services and Warranty: A: Answer regards Germany only - currently 18 Ineos Agents plus Bosch services in Germany. - Every Ineos customer will get information what to do - if get stuck in the middle of nowhere and how to access support.
Q6 Central display: One person was complaining about central display, the person reckons the central display is just for cost saving on LHD RHD vehicles. Are any effects on how to drive a central display? The answer is there is no issue, and in particular due to the rather upright windscreen anything in front of the driver would be rather and issue when navigating offroad. - The important information such as velocity is sufficiently big.
Q7 Just regards the pricing What does its cost to own and operate? A - The person mentions the base price of each edition.
Q8 The person considers the Grenadier as a „horny box“, a cool car, but how long will it exist and spare parts available? - A: This is a matter of hope that it will be built long enough and its an utility like an old defender, lasting, perhaps passed on in the family and a companion. The partners like Bosch and others are sufficiently renown to ship all necessary spares and that is the least to worry about.
Q9 What is empty weight and max weight? A: Starting from 2.6t depending on Equipment max 3.5 metric tons.
Q10 What on Matzer Special vehicles as based on Defender / X Class .. anything planned on Grenadier or Quartermaster Pickup ? - A: As of now welded enforcements in B and C pillars are concerning the engineers - how to alter that w/o inhibiting the vehicles body stability - Again very early stage - no answer yet.
Q11 Why must this vehicle have a 3 litre V6 engine concerning fuel prices is this economic and feasible Why is fuel consumption no where mentioned ? A: The engine is a straight six from BMW and a very reliable machine and is designed to get such a vehicle properly in motion. The consumption ratio / power to weight is feasible he mentions some what 13l /100km but that is also related to his driving style.
Q12 Just to confirm there no price difference between Diesel and Petrol / Gas? A : Yes confirmed both engines have same price.
Q13 Why is the 5 Seater not providing an even level to the boot.. A: For using the vehicle as a sleeper get an elevation e.g,. by a rack with drawers or purchase a 2 seater. It is urgently recommended if the rear seats are removed or what ever modification is done to allow maintenance and access to battery compartments and fuses
Q14 Is there the same distance between A pillar and steering wheel as in old defender? - A: NO.
Old defender has a vehicle With of somewhat 179cm and Grenadier 193cm so there is lots more comfort.
Q15 concerns space and differences to RHD (Footwell intrusion) any effects? - A :no issues and comfortable driving position even for very tall persons.
Q16 Cost of first inspection Will it be the same as the price of a a used Lada Niva in appropriate condition? A: The cost of an inital service is between 500 and 900 Eur. If you get a Lada Niva for that price I want one too.
Q17 Service Intervals how should maintenance occur: A Once a year or 20.000kms Oil change in drive drain except engine every 40 tkm (every 2nd service) If the vehicle is in hefty offroad use - change every service recommended or earlier - 6 months time.
Q18 concerns 230V, Auxheater, 2nd Battery, Type of Automatic? A: 230V inverter aftermarket by matzker, 2nd Battery option (on model), Automatic by ZF. AuxHeater aftermarket by Webasto but no mention of just cabin or cabin and engine.

Q23 Will there be a 3 Door version of the Grenadier: A no plannings yet.
Q24 Is the vehicle body on frame or monocoque A: Body on Frame
Q 25 Is there an electric version of Grenadier or just outdated ICE ? A our engines are highly modern and efficient and everything else but outdated technology. There is just one electric version of the Grenadier used by Sir Jim - and development continues on that topic.
Q26 Is the vehicle also available in manual gear: A : No automatic only.
