Just had lift installed, front stabilizer and alignment from a reputable off road shop in my area, picked it up Friday. It drives way worse than it did factory, some darting and lots of wandering. So looking underneath I see issues with the stabilizer install and I can rotate the trackbar by hand.

How much movement should the trackbar have, rotationally? Video attached.

They installed the fox adj stabilizer incorrectiy and either didn’t use the mounting block that’s supposed to be included in the Owl kit, or it wasn’t in the kit and instead of calling to see if I wanted to cut off the bracket - they just went ahead and cut off the OEM steering stabilizer mount! The way they have it installed the piston is touching the mounting bolt.

I’m beyond frustrated, and stopped driving it. Now thinking I want to replace the trackbar and properly install the stabilizer to factory the mounting point, seems others have had the clamp mount come apart.

Looking for advice on the trackbar movement to make sure I know what I should be blowing up about here when I talk to them Monday.

Thanks

I am sorry for your exerience. Diagnosing issues in cyberspace is nearly impossible.

Let's start with this: How high was your lift?

I am not understanding the way the stabilizer was installed. Is that drilled in to the trac bar? If so, no. It should be bolted on with a clamp or using the direct fit type from Agile Offroad.

Keep in mind the lift and stock shocks may be your problem. Assuming you kept the stocks anyways. The stock shocks are super light valving. Combined with the short rear link arms I feel you get some rear steer from the back if the body rolls too much. So stiffening the shocks a bit tames the body roll and any rear steer.

As for the steering stabilizer, I’m not sure what going on there with that extension. But the bolt used for the extension is odd and certainly too close to the rod. I have used a flush mount cap head bolt before and they clear well and allow use of the stock O-ring used by Fox.

Have you checked the adjustment settings on the stabilizer? It’s possible it’s not set right. Try turning it all the way down to zero and see what you think. Then start increasing the dampening a few clicks at a time until you feel it’s too stiff. You want it as stiff as possible but not so stiff it doesn’t self center at least 90% of the way in a normal residential 90°turn.

With the Eibach lift, adjustable shocks and the Fox ATS stabilizer you should be able to get the Grenadier to handle very similar to most modern 4x4 SUV’s unlike it does in stock form.
