Looking for X-Lock or similar alternatives in Europe

Anyone been able to buy an X-Lock or some other alternative within Europe?

Is there a way to use aluminum rings to achieve the same result, like this one?

I know that picture is taken from the Yankum Ropes website but that looks real dangerous using it like that to me
