Hi. I have a diesel Trialmaster and surprised by the long brake pedal travel and how soft it feels. Not sure if that's normal for this vehicle or there's an issue with mine. Would welcome any thoughts / experiences :)

Nar mate it has a reasonably long travel, and it brakes well through the full range. It is far superior having longer travel than short on a nearly 3T vehicle.

No I don't have a long brake pedal travel, but that said not short travel either though. Just as a comfort factor I would check the brake fluid level.

I tend to agree. It's about the same as my last pickup but doesn't have that sharp feel.that some cars have.
No cause for concern.

It’s not a gripe, but I HAVE noticed that throughout the first 500 miles of break-in my brake pedal travel has, in fact, lengthened. Performance is the same though (no drop-off there). I’m a US/LHD/Petrol owner. Wish I could quantify this a bit better, but I’ve just not seen it as a “problem” as much as an observation. I may check the fluid level, but that’s it. If I see aftermarket pads out there in a year, I may upgrade. - Mark

Had a similar issue. So I told my dealers that my car took quite a long distance to do an emergency stop. Considering it has brembos, I thought they were crap. I explained to them there was excessive brake dive. Their explanation was it’s a three ton brick. I agree but it’s dangerous if it doesn’t stop in time and should have big enough brakes to stop within legal parameters. Also my rear brakes would occasionally squeak after washing car, raining etc.

Ineos area technician came to address several issues. Had the dealer bleed all four brakes and cleaned the rear brakes up and ever since been absolutely perfect firm grabby feel. Previously I had to stamp on it and it would dive forward.

Without any explanation from them, I think the rear brake and front brake pressure was uneven therefore it was more front bias. Grateful it’s all fixed now.
