The body cover flap locks when the car is locked. Should be enough protection I would have thought.

No, the flap is very flimsy, I have more concerns it will " fall off in my hands " rather than being a detergent.

You all seem shocked that thieves will put a hole in tank rather than having to carry a bit of hose round and get some in their mouth. Also most cars now have anti syphon things fitted.
Have any of you seen the pictures/videos of gangs in London with chainsaws that pull up to cars in traffic, jack them up and cut off the catalytic converters.
On a non motoring theft, I think it was Sheffield or Leeds where a gang ran in to the shopping centre, again with chainsaws to steal high value watches from the jewelers safe.
Best UK advice is if someone wants to rob you, just hand it over.
Lorry driver I know had his tank drained whilst he was asleep in vehicle in lay-by on a busy main road.

I have read or seen reports of such things but, honestly, I thought it was media hysteria. It’s real?!

They all wear face covering and no helmet so police won't chase as they might get hurt if fall off their bikes. I have seen them a few times, going round roundabouts wrong way, on wrong side of road etc
There is 1 round us and he only ever seems to be on 1 wheel when in the village or on both when open road where he is doing about 40/50mph. Going green has been a huge benefit to the criminally minded

I think I would prefer losing £100 of fuel than having to replace a fuel tank because someone took a hole cutter to it.

A bit off topic... On holiday in Italy once, parked on a road overnight. In the morning the whole row of cars had their locks forced.
I had forgotten to lock mine.
Unlike everybody else, no damage to my car, no valuables in the car.

I know but I couldn’t help myself, sorry.

A lifetime of watching Leslie Nielsen films has taken its toll.
Shirley not...and don't call me ...
Those one liners are brilliant, and by todays standard Airplane still remains a classic
