My key fob has lost spring tension. On disassembly it appears that it may be broken as I cannot work out how to re-tension the spring. Please see attached photos. The circled areas are rough and seem like they could mate together. I assume the die cast has fractured here. The small piece is pictured upside down for clarity. If flipped over and attached to the key housing the spring would lock in. It appears that if the two pieces are attached the could apply tension to the spring. Can anyone shed light on this? I could be completely wrong (I have been in the past)

There are some key pictures in this thread, perhaps this helps:

Thanks Jean. That definitely helps. I have reattached with superglue but it is not strong enough the bear the pressure of the spring. It is attached though so I will brace it by gluing a small piece of fine spring steel shaped to fit the profile. More to come!

Unfortunately the repair is too difficult, I tried a range of things. Still works just not spring actuated. I think I damaged it when reassembling after installing the o ring install for the panic button.

Maybe you could get one of these keys, have the key cut, and then it might fit into your FOB? Supposedly the Peugeot/Renault keys are same or close enough that they can be made to work?

Also noticed in your photo, is the key itself pinned into the base piece that is broken? It looks like there may be a roll pin there? If so, maybe a spare part can be bought?
