Will be mounting a starlink mini to the roof soon, and looking for a way to power it off one of the switches. It only draws 60w max, so seems like a waste to use the other exterior roof plugs if I can avoid it (and allows more options for the future)
Question- has anyone run wiring from one of the interior 1/2 wires to the roof, and if so what was your process?

Thanks

Did you have any luck with this? I’m looking to do the same thing.

Start here. This might get you moving in the right direction. It's based on a solar panels to run an aux battery but once you get down the pillar, it should be fairly simple.

I have starlink. I wanted to have a dedicated outlet without giving up one of the swtiches. So i mounted an ARB treaded socket on the back right of my bumper. It is live and connected directly to the second battery out the back door and under the bumper. It works great.

Thank you. I saw that post but I don't have the extended aux power option. At least I have lockers which was a much more important option to me.

I'm starting to think it might be easier to go down the back door and in from the bottom. I don't want to risk leaks in the roof.

Now that is brilliant and I just ordered the ARB Socket. I'm guessing that you pulled wire under the car an up into the battery area via one of the existing grommets? How are you securing the wire going up the back of the truck?

I will take some pictures when I get home. I think it is coming out the grommet in/by the door and then slides directly under the bumper. i don't secure the starlink cable. I only plut it in when I am stationary because I really don't need internet when mobile. I made an extension for the starlink cable so i have a total of maybe 12 feet. wouldn't want to do more than that. Also, I didn't want to permanently mount by dish becasue i want to orient the angle as needed. Plus, i camp in a lot of wooded areas sometimes. So i want to be able to just take my jackery out to a clearing and connect away from my car.

Thank you for your assistance. I would have never thought about going this direction. It doesn't appear that the socket comes with the plug end. What did your use for a plug? I can easily make up a wiring harness but need to identify the correct plug.

I don't have the aux power either. I spoke to my dealer and for around 300 dollars they can order one of the panels with the aux ports and replace the stock non-aux piece. They are handed so you will need to know which side of the vehicle you want the wires to go before ordering.

Below are some pics of the install. There is a grommet in the floor by the second battery. It runs through that and under the car, behind the wheelwell and then directly to the bumper. Also attahced is the the plug and connector I have. I got the ARB cord (DC screw to cig lighter - on amazon) that has the option to have the cigarette lighter screwed on, which I use for when connected to my jackery.

That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for taking the time and sending the pictures. It really does seem like the cleanest and simplest way to wire this.

Nice install. I use the same screw type ARB socket for my ARB fridge as regular 12v plugs tend to work loose out of the socket on rough roads.
