I would love a SINGLE-CAB quartermaster for my dream tourer!

Interesting extract from a press article dated 27th November:

"The fledging carmaker has also announced a cab-chassis version of the Grenadier Quartermaster will enter production in 2024, and will be aimed at “conversion specialists and commercial body builders."

on configurators NOW!
For us Yanks, you have to toggle UK or another non-North America location to play with the configurator. It is interesting that the pickup costs less than the SUV. When they open it up to US I’m afraid that won’t be the case. The US has a 25% import tax on light duty trucks (“chicken tax“) that I’m pretty sure will cause a big increase in cost for Quartermaster trucks in US.

The Chicken Tax will be brutal unfortunately. If it were not for that I would probably consider one retirement, add a roof top tent and pull our off road camper. I had been planning on a Gladiator.

I would love it! You would have to sit very upright. Maybe a 1 1/2 version?
They would hopefully leave enough room to recline the seats for a comfortable ride. Toyota did this for the LC79 single cab - I own one of those!

I would be interested in a quick estimation for the weight. You would want to have decent water tanks and probably extra fuel tanks in this. Who has enough experience to make an educated guess what number we would see on the scale with this vehicle.
I have built a similar tourer based on the 79 - see photo below - that one was built using aluminum - but it turns out that it is a bit too heavy - that is why my next tour must be built using lighter materials like carbon fiber. If anyone knows companies that specialize in building CUSTOM overland vehicles using carbon fiber or other materials that are just light and strong, then please reach out to me. Thanks a million.

A cabin with light material like carbon fiber should not weigh over 200 kg! You then, of course, need to add a second fuel tank, water tank, etc.
