Has anyone tried to bypass the need for offroad mode and center lock being needed to turn on the grill lights? I want to move my grill light switch to one of the available 10amp switches, but I also wondered if I could bypass something that would allow the grill lights to turn on and off with the normal overhead switch.

You don't need center locked to turn on the aux lights. But I am also interested if anyone has a solution.

As stated above, CDL doesn't need to be engaged, just off road mode.

There's no simply bypass to use the factory switch as the logic coding comes from the BCM, which is coded specifically for your region.

Your option would be to rewire them to the EXT1 switch if you'd like independent control

I changed the lights and used the EXT1 switch for on/off function, but also took power from under the hood main battery power post with an inline 20amp fuse to power a relay to provide power for the lights. Most lights use more than the 10amp rating of the Ext1 switch, so it is used to trigger the relay. Can turn on in any situation on or off road.
