Gas oil capacity

I bought the FCP 7 liter kit for the B58. Today I went to the dealer to have the service engine countdown reset. Vehicle sat on the lot for 4-5 months, we have only had it since July and we have on;y put 2000 miles on the Grenadier.


I wasn't going to go another year on the oil and I am a believer in an early oil change on new vehicles.

Measured 6.5 liters and at first the oil check said on road was OK, off road add 500ml. Drove around town and then ran level test again, both said add 1000ml. I added the 500ml I had left... New test show off road and on road at OK.

Is it typical that it needs more oil than the book says?

Yes its a Known quirk.

Have done 2 oil changes in my gas Grenny so far. Both took 7 L to fill to off road mode.
I have a suspicion, that the engine needs at least 30 min in city conditions, to get it warm enough for an accurate oil level test.
