Floor seal

I get in and out of the car several times every day.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to preserve the floor seal?
A month ago I tried to apply door sill tape but it didn't last very long....

Folks are using "helicopter" tape or any of the clear protective tape products out there - I got some from Amazon.
