That's a Nato type socket (female) and powers up anything that you have suitably wired with a male Nato connection. A little like the tow ball electric socket. Same but different. It's a universal type socket used worldwide, more popular in some places than others. (armed forces etc).

Now - hopefully you can open it. Some owners have had problems with that, even using channel locks - so good to put in a little anti-seize compound
Thank you for this. I may never use mine but if I don't use it until 5 years from now it's only going to be more difficult. The storage compartment on the spare is the same way, better to take it off on a sunny day on your driveway than a cold winter's night.

Edit: I gave mine a twist tonight after work and it wasn't even really tight, not even finger tight. Go figure, fwiw my Trialmaster was built in May of 2024.

Ok just hoping to help here….
When picking Shiitake up from remedial work at the dealer I asked them to show me how to remove this plug cover…🤣
Three employees had a go and then they returned her to the workshop for unseen methods. Here is the result which they are obviously going to replace when supplied with a new one. 😁👍🏼
I am considering using this plug for direct input from a regulated solar source and wanted to have access. This vehicle was probably manufactured in early 2023 (vin 193) and this plug probably hadn’t been removed until last week.
I suggest anyone wishing to use this, if it’s mounted, needs to remove the cover and probably apply some grease or other anti seize product. 👍🏼

Oh that looks like war crimes were committed! “Unseen methods” - sounds nefarious.

Hoping it was a whiskey 🥃 bung… a self-serve station, maybe?

You can get a Jerry Can, fill that puppy with Whiskey, and mount it on the vehicle in many locations! Woohoo!

Actually it seems like, as the Brits would say, "Quite Good Fun" to drink Whiskey out of a Jerry Can using a (clean, new, of course... lol...) tube & gas dispenser handle... Fill'er Up, Hi-Test, Unleaded...
