Has anyone seen anyone providing door sill protection.

Scuffing of the sills seem to be being brought up quite a bit on Facebook.
I am having my detailer put some clear wrap inside there when he does the ceramic coating

Do you know the thickness of the clear wrap?

Most clear paint and stone protection films are around 0.2mm or 0.3mm.
Maybe he should put down a double layer as the weight of your boot scraping on the sill may tear through 0.2mm

Hi, (just posted this also in the German chapter)

I have used this product available at Amazon (at least in Germany):

Worked well for me, is transparent and barely visible but hopefully protecting well.

I cut out the plastic stripes, here are 2 photos, first one is driver side (left hand drive) front, second one is driver side rear:

Good idea. Has yours come in yet??

Is the ceramic coating worth while?
No currently floating off the west coast of Africa. Ceramic coating is worth it for general paint protection from bird crap etc and makes it easy to wash. It won’t provide strong protection against bush stripes etc.

I used 3M skateboard grip tape. You just have to pay attention to the lower door rubber.View attachment 7816486
I have the 3M helicopter clear tape ready to go. Thinking now having seen your grip tape to use that for the sills and save the clear tape for the door edges. 👍

Also keep in mind if someone hits /rubs their exposed leg on the sill getting out, they’re likely to lose some bark on the way down. Ouch.
