Yep, made the same post a few days ago (USB file type)Does anyone use USB sticks for music?
It doesn't read for me!
Neither 8/16/31/64 gb
You need a Grenadier to " mate" with your old iPod and iPhone to try it.FWIW I use an old iPhone 3G as a music machine and I also use an old iPod as one too. They connect fine in Honda and did so in my GMC and Ford trucks.
Ouch. That’s a low blow since I’m waiting here in NA to get mineYou need a Grenadier to " mate" with your old iPod and iPhone to try it.
No that's the issue, using the auxiliary cubby input it sees the USB stick but " no songs" . I've had the same on a L/R Discovery 4, not recognising AAC format. Which means the Grenadier may not recognise an iPod. I shall wait patiently till yours arrives then we'll know for certainOuch. That’s a low blow since I’m waiting here in NA to get mine
Could they not be selected as an auxiliary input via a cubby USB?
I'll convert some iTunes songs to MP3 format and see if it reads themNo that's the issue, using the auxiliary cubby input it sees the USB stick but " no songs" . Ah. Gotcha. Well don’t hold your breath-you’d definitely turn blue while I wait. Hello @Eric, I have copied my music files (mp3) to a USB stick. The stick is recognised and I can play the files, fast-forward and skip to the next track. After switching off or parking the vehicle, the music continues to play from the point at which it stopped. Perfect!I'll convert some iTunes songs to MP3 format and see if it reads them
Thanks @rovie, I'll convert all my iTune files on the USB stick to mp3 format.Hello @Eric, I have copied my music files (mp3) to a USB stick. Thanks @Jean Mercier it recognises the usb drive, no problem it is just the contents format it doesn't like. Usual for a new modern head unit. There was a thread that I started in May concerning the USB port:
Connecting a USB-A stick or drive to the infotainment screen
When you connect a device to the USB-A port in the central cubby box, you get: a short message saying "USB connected" It disappears at once and the screen says "No USB connected" This is quite contra intuitive, I thought the device wasn't recognized, but don't despair: Click on the menu...www.theineosforum.com
Perhaps some useful information there, from me or others.
Same positive experience. I added to the mp3 files the relative icons and the display shows them. Remember to select the USB-A from the menu in the top right corner of the Audio Page... After that, you can also select how the player will manage the sequence of pieces (album, artist, etc). Only problem is that, sometimes, after turning on, the player starts again from the first album and not from the point at which it stopped. I'm trying to understand the reason...Hello @Eric, I have copied my music files (mp3) to a USB stick. The stick is recognised and I can play the files, fast-forward and skip to the next track. Maybe it initialises and stores that first album info?Same positive experience. I added to the mp3 files the relative icons and the display shows them. Mine is recognising the USB stick, no problem. The issue I now have, I used the iTunes software on my PC to convert the songs into MP3 format. But when I dragged them onto a stick it transferred them as MP4A files, which the Grenadier doesn't recognise. I can understand Apples protection software to prevent " unauthorised " use of their files. It just means I need some third party software to convert MP4A to MP3 files. All the free software limits how much you can convert at a time, a very small number. If you want to convert a 1000 files you need to buy the software. I'm also reluctant to lnstall "third party" software on the PC.I have a USB stick I'm using, all MP3, no issue, sometimes it takes a while to recognise its loaded, but always has.
try VLC, that will convertMine is recognising the USB stick, no problem. The issue I now have, I used the iTunes software on my PC to convert the songs into MP3 format.
