Yep, made the same post a few days ago (USB file type)
I have about 1000 iTunes on some USB sticks that work in the other car.
The Grenadier reads the USB but doesn't recognise any songs.
ITunes are AAC files and the stick is Formated in FAT format
I don't think the Grenadier recognises AAC files. I was going to try an MP3 file to see if it recognises that.
Till I work it out, may have to rely on a Spotify playlist.

FWIW I use an old iPhone 3G as a music machine and I also use an old iPod as one too. They connect fine in Honda and did so in my GMC and Ford trucks.

You need a Grenadier to " mate" with your old iPod and iPhone to try it.

Ouch. That’s a low blow since I’m waiting here in NA to get mine 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Could they not be selected as an auxiliary input via a cubby USB?

No that's the issue, using the auxiliary cubby input it sees the USB stick but " no songs" . I've had the same on a L/R Discovery 4, not recognising AAC format. Which means the Grenadier may not recognise an iPod. I shall wait patiently till yours arrives then we'll know for certain

I'll convert some iTunes songs to MP3 format and see if it reads them

Ah. Gotcha. Well don’t hold your breath-you’d definitely turn blue while I wait. Hopefully will get a VIN this week.

There was a thread that I started in May concerning the USB port:

Perhaps some useful information there, from me or others.

Hello @Eric, I have copied my music files (mp3) to a USB stick. The stick is recognised and I can play the files, fast-forward and skip to the next track. After switching off or parking the vehicle, the music continues to play from the point at which it stopped. Perfect!

Thanks @rovie, I'll convert all my iTune files on the USB stick to mp3 format.

Thanks @Jean Mercier it recognises the usb drive, no problem it is just the contents format it doesn't like. Usual for a new modern head unit.

Same positive experience. I added to the mp3 files the relative icons and the display shows them. Remember to select the USB-A from the menu in the top right corner of the Audio Page... After that, you can also select how the player will manage the sequence of pieces (album, artist, etc). Only problem is that, sometimes, after turning on, the player starts again from the first album and not from the point at which it stopped. I'm trying to understand the reason...

Maybe it initialises and stores that first album info?
What happens if you disconnect the USB then stop the car?

I have a USB stick I'm using, all MP3, no issue, sometimes it takes a while to recognise its loaded, but always has.

Mine is recognising the USB stick, no problem. The issue I now have, I used the iTunes software on my PC to convert the songs into MP3 format. But when I dragged them onto a stick it transferred them as MP4A files, which the Grenadier doesn't recognise. I can understand Apples protection software to prevent " unauthorised " use of their files. It just means I need some third party software to convert MP4A to MP3 files. All the free software limits how much you can convert at a time, a very small number. If you want to convert a 1000 files you need to buy the software. I'm also reluctant to lnstall "third party" software on the PC.
