Last night the front windscreen demister button stopped functioning, the orange on light still works but it fails to trigger the fan.

I resorted to just twiddling the fan button around to position'4' instead.

No biggy but with two wet labs and a humid evening the demist button is quite well used - or was.

Anyone suffered similar?

Not had this yet. My demister produces a high frequency shrill noise which I hate. I’ve been using it more lately as the weather turns cold. Takes forever to demist the windscreen. I’ve resorted to manual fan and windscreen setting instead of auto.

I’m the same I get the shrill sound on max setting or when hitting demister. Seems to be coming from the left hand side on my car.

Can’t help with stuff packing up, but have you tried air con “auto” for demisting. Always works for me.

I too had the shrill shriek, still does it on no.4. Unfortunately on auto it only works for a while then fogs up. Will put it on the list for the next dealer trip.

Mine too, that’s why in this colder weather I have it on manual fan 2 and windscreen to stop it fogging up.

Was back to normal today. Perhaps a good night's sleep and some Yorkshire air did it some good.
