... ain't happening, i'm told (by Ineos, who phoned me to ask if this would effect colour choice)

anyone else get this?

I like your avatar Sam. I didn't quite get your question. Are Ineos telling you they can't offer your choice of contrast wrap?

Thanks : )

Yes, thats what I've been told - that the contrast wrap option will not/ is not being offered

I would've quite liked the contrast rear door but was not an option with painted Inky Black roof ticked.

I have not had a call, I was contrast Tunic Red rear door on Donny Grey. Not the biggest problem in the world, can get the wrap done myself and might get the saddle leather option which I have been toying with since the test drive and seeing it on the hand brake. Are you a UK buyer Sam?

Unless you are the same person reporting it on some of the FB groups, it's being reported there.

Wasn’t me.

Australian buyer.

Was told getting an acceptable quality was the issue

I really wanted there to be an option to have the surround of the rear of the car wrapped in Black - just like these. They look great.

It's a shame if they have gone, but I think the ideas are there to copy, or go better with.

I didn't think it was really an activity that best sat with a manufacturer. Especially when any remedial action would potentially be delegated to agents. I think I'd go direct to a local wrap specialist who does this day in day out.

JLR caught a cold with some of their matt wraps on the new Defender. I think Ineos may be dodging a bullet on this.

A wrap is only good for a few years before it needs replacing or removing. If it's true then I suspect IA decided it wasn't worth the hassle dealing with customers complaining about tatty wraps in due course.

I agree. Can of worms... in terms of permutations/ combinations of colours that they will/ won't allow.

Leave it to the aftermarket

I see also that the skid plates are black, not silver. That is what I would like to order.
But not really a problem they can be sprayed.
I looked closely at those series of photos. In some they definitely looked black but it others definitely silver. I wonder if it was just the lighting (or lack of it)?

They have to stick to a 5 year warranty so I think you are correct
I know there are market variations on warranty but the paint warranty in the UK digital brochure was just 3 years and there was a footnote on the paint options page stating "certain features have a limited warranty".

and

"Warranty periods offered by INEOS on certain features may be limited and differ in duration. Please refer to the INEOS Automotive Manufacturers Warranty Terms and Conditions for details of variations and exceptions."

I might get wrap done locally anyway. And get some decals made... like the one on the drivers door (below), and per some of the prototypes which have the GRENADIER lettering on the side of the bonnet in a contrast colour such as white.

I think it will head off the inevitable questions, about if it's a Land Rover or... ?

... but mostly cos it'll look "fully sick", as they say 🤪

Got my call this afternoon regarding my wrap and its withdrawal , he confirmed that cars are still rolling off the production line and recommended any other changes I wish to make be carried out through my dealer (Grange in Edinburgh). I asked if I would have the car before the end of the year and he hoped that I would.
