We've been told so many different stories on how many different spring types/rates there are and whether if you have a winch the front springs are uprated/upgraded, etc; so here's the ID on mine.

Please add your own, with spec, and we can work out all the permutations.

Vehicle: UK spec, N1, RHD, 5 seat, diesel, no winch: Have I missed anything?

Front: EI-0000019546 (2 green circles)
Rear: EI-0000021752 (2 blue triangles)

Those bump stops if that’s what they are? They are substantial looking

Actually, what surprised me most was the overall diameter of the rears and the diameter of the wire used - they look like they would belong on a Unimog and are certainly far larger than the ones on my old Defender.

With the grenadier springs on your defender, you wouldn't have a very comfortable ride. Your old defender is about 800 kg lighter.

Yes ~ but they both have the same GVM, so how does that work?

No it will not be comfortable at all as the springs are made for those 800 kg more. It would be a very hard ride.
I have the HD springs in my TD5 and they start doing their job when I load 400 kg in the boot...
By the way the TD4 Defender has progressive springs which are way more comfortable than the linear ones in the older models.

My 110 from 1984 has a GVM of 2950 kg.
My 110 from 2013 has a GVM of 3050 kg.
If I want to upgrade to 3500, like the grenadier, a need to install other springs.

You can use the HD springs of the 130. to raise the true payload. But it will be another thing to get it registrated I think.

I could be making more of the two green/two red dots than I should be...

No, you're spot on. This is how Mercedes does their spring rating on the G-Wagen (which is also built by Magna-Steyr as you probably know). Mercedes has a spec sheet with a variety of springs, which have different colors/number of stripes; ie brown 2stripe, yellow 3stripe. These coordinate to spring rates.

Apparently IA will have 7 variations of spring rates. The more options you add to your IG, the heavier a spring rate they'll run. Hopefully they'll share their spring rate spec chart so any of us who want to change out our springs to a higher rate can do so.

This thread is awesome, thank you for starting it DCPU.

Let's start a chart of sorts, from probability of lightest spring rate F&R, to heaviest;

**LIGHT**

DCPU; UK spec, N1 (which is a 2seat UtilityWagon/UW, but then you had them add the rear bench to make it a 5seat??), RHD, diesel, no winch, WHICH TIRES/WHEELS?(adds some unsprung weight to the rig), ROOF RACK, LIGHT BAR, SNORKEL?
Front: EI-0000019546 (2 green circles)
Rear: EI-0000021752 (2 blue triangles)

**HEAVY**

Arkaig; UK spec, M1 SW, Fieldmaster, diesel, winch, WHICH TIRES/WHEELS?(adds some unsprung weight to the rig), ROOF RACK, LIGHT BAR, SNORKEL?
Front: EI-0000019547 (2 red circles)
Rear; ?? (??)

@jeremy_matrix great work! The rear coils probably the same across the range because they need to operate satisfactorily across a wide load "band" ... including up to GVM with max. towball download. ...

On your knees lads! Go seek and find! Post those rear coil pics showing serial numbers and colour markings!!
