Center Console (cupholder) Solution

I've wondered the same thing as I'm less interested in giant cup holders and more interested in a higher quality material to finish off the center console which this modification provides nicely. I can however see why some would want bigger holders and slots for phones. But watching some videos of the phones sitting in the slots they kind of poke up awkwardly out of the center console in a way that doesn't seem all that convenient but I'm not big on interacting with a phone while on the road anyway but can certainly understand others need to have their phone within reach.

Is it cool to the touch? The metal bits gives it a very Pagani look to the interior.

But seriously.. I put a fking large size buger king soda into my stock cup holder today. It fit perfectly.

Why are ppl so vexed by the standard cup holders?
Yes it’s cool to the touch and the raised metal guards to either side of the selector are a natural landing spot for your hand. I don’t use the phone slots since I have the Owl gear band and bullet mountain holders. I also wasn’t that put off by the factory drink holders but the overall improvement over finish and style from the OEM bits is well worth it. I personally love the brightness of the clear finish. No glare at all but I also have tint on my safari windows.

Bingo!

I don't typically carry around big insulated cups like the yeti and/or stanley, and have found the stock cup holder to be sufficient for things like a 12 ounce aluminum can to even some larger coffee drinks. I was also fine with my phone sitting in the little compartment just in front of the gear shifter until I opt for the 67 designs mount.

So, I did this purely for looks in order to get rid of the high-gloss black plastic around the selector knob. I also like the added durability of the anodized aluminum. I went with the grey and happy with the way the color looks. The entire piece looks very high quality and like its a stock part of the vehicle. Same drinks I carried before still fit just fine, nor are they loose or slopping around in the new larger holder - which was a little bit of a concern at first. The 3D cup holder part also looks really good - I know others have brought that up in the past and just want to say that (I think) it looks at home in the vehicle.
