CARMAG video review (South Africa)

The Ineos Grenadier may be the most hotly anticipated motoring model to arrive on the market for off-roading enthusiasts. ROC got to experience its capabilities in the Wintery lochs of Scotland ahead of its global introduction. Here are his initial impressions.

Positive review. Again, so much more useful (for me at least) to hear reviews from South Africa, Australia, NZ, than from Europe... different context and sentiment completely

Agree, I think someone said before that the southern hemisphere reviewers got what the vehicle is about. Not sure why they don't, is it becuse they are used to driving rack and pinion vehicles?

I wonder if the UK/Europe reviewers are looking at the price and thinking luxury SUV and the southern hemisphere guys are looking at the vehicle and thinking 70 series, old defender, G wagen (pre AMG 63)

Interesting perspective @DaveB I'm honestly a little baffled myself. Maybe they think all 4x4s should have R&P ?

In Europe the majority thinks our roads are " sooooo good" wtf someone needs a real offroader. If desired get an Unimog - or retired truck (MAN) from military.
They cannot imagine - and lost all knowledge whats required. Also the question is raised in Europe why du you need this? Most think their opinion should be shared by all.
Hunting? How do you dare to murder animals. Forestry? Tree killer. Driving offroad - destroy the nature.
Same people go anywhere with their (E Mountain bikes across protected areas - seen so . even in my hunting district . illegal MTB race track.
What do you expect from journalists in Europe perhaps never seen a real challenge out there like in Africa or Australia.. ?
No clue what is beyond their comfort zone. Indeed I do look on comments and ratings from countries where OffRoading is a real topic. Not driving on an unpaved agricultural road ..

That's just a play track. I never see the point of this sort of driving. Kids with TONKA toys. :) Each to their own I suppose.
Gunshot at the Cape.
Yeah, I’ll admit to driving around it and just watching the young fellas with more money than brains (or should that be more balls than brains) dropping their trucks down it and leaving bits behind. 😂😂

Think you hit the nail on the head!

The disparity between most of these metropolitan-journos and those of us who get our hands dirty for a living is massive in the UK.
They can't conceive why people would need something like the Grenadier, when in their life, a Kia sorrento would be a "big 4x4".
They've never towed 3.5 ton across a muddy field, or had to snatch a truck out of a ditch.
I wouldn't take their advice on what excavator or tractor to purchase, and that's why I won't give much weight to the majority of their 4x4 reviews, good or bad.

Haven’t been up there yet, but it’s on the list for the Grenadier, but I agree, I will happily set up camp and spend a day with a beer watching these blokes trashing their vehicles and then drive on around on on my way living to drive another few thousand days.

I was relating more to the width of the track and full size US pickups just wouldn't fit
Did you see the video of the Ram doing the Gunshot?Guy with a Youtube channel- Uncaged Australia. I have a feeling he deleted the Gunshot portion due to it being stuck.
