Cargo door doesn’t actually lock?

I only realized that with the vehicle locked, the door latch on the cargo 30 door still works to unlatch the 30 door. However something else on the 70 door holds the 30 door in place so it doesn’t open all the way.

I would have expected the push button to not unlatch the door at all, while locked. I mean, this is how it functions for the 4 side doors.

Is what I am describing another working as designed IG quirk?

Could it be the same?

Mine definitely doesn't open when vehicle locked by remote or with the physical key.
Button pushes in but door doesn't open.
My entire rear door lock mechanism was replaced.

Mine did that probably once every ten times. Even after slamming it reasonably hard.
The dealer adjusted it and it hasn’t done it since. Easy fix.

Ok it looks like I need to slam the 30 door with more force!

I did that and no longer able to reproduce my original symptom, door lock works as expected!

Why was the mechanism replaced ?
The door sensor was faulty, causing the alarm and door open/closed system to think the door was open.
When driving it kept flashing door open and bonging.
When parked and off the alarm would go off at random times, mostly 2 am or thereabouts.
I could still lock the car with the key but that didn't arm the alarm.
I called Ineos and got some guy called Mark in the UK call centre.
He was great and called me back 2 days later (Sunday) with the solution after he had spoken with the factory.

Any idea what they adjusted? Moved the latch point outward or inward?
I have not checked this but usually the latch is just fixed to the door body and the adjustment is in the striker on the body pillar. In case you need to slam the door with force the striker should be moved slightly outwards.
