I took a chance over the weekend and purchased this during their boxing day sale. $2k delivered. Hard to beat. I feel like I may be a beta tester in the US but the people there were quite pleasant and helpful when I asked them questions. Being local to the PNW I've always supported Warn, so this is a good fit.

Sharing in case you too are looking for other more cost effective options.

Cheers!

$2k USD shipped is a great deal. This looks like a great setup using a proven winch with standard length of rope. Please let us know how it works out. I’m definitely interested.

Did you contact them for shipping to the US?

No, the online checkout handled it just fine.

Something tells me the devils in the details that are being left out of those 3 page instructions lol.

Still great price, and cant go wrong with warn

Interesting that the winch is mounted backwards

It solves the height issue with the grill. Its how installed the un clockable cheapie winch in the back of my lx470 so I could reach under and get the freespool handle. There really is no “top” to a planetary winch as far as I know… if there was I never killed one. The 8274 style on the other hand.

The GP factor is like almost twice that, right? What is the difference? Brand of whinch, but what else?

The LFD center section is about a grand. You can buy whatever winch you want for that one. No, it’s not a hidden winch, but there are only operational disadvantages to hidden winches. Having winched extensively, every once in a while when your focus is elsewhere, synth line goes all sort of “charlie brown kite tree”. I want easy access to the drum.

Does that capit kit include the winch? Our kit is $3400 which includes the come up seal slim 12k s winch. Domestically in the US shipping is free as well.

Wasn’t a dig on you guys, more that more expensive usually means more better ;). Just wanted to know why…

And now the Capit is $3500 Canadian Beavers? So like $2400US?

Oh no worries at all. I didn’t take it that way. Was really asking because I didn’t know either way👍. Pricing seems on par for what the kit is and the winch it comes with. I’ll get a full detailed post up in our vendor area breaking down our kit for those interested. Materials used, how it’s designed, welded, the come up winch vs others, etc 👍

Come up is a Taiwan based company, so, I'd assume it's an in house Taiwan made motor v Chinese made motor, which, 20 years ago lent itself to something. Today china is perfectly capable of building parts to spec and respectable companies that utilize the parts put the batches thru QA/QC, of which I'd guess Warn is one. Its the same argument against the Ineos Chinse brush bar. If there's an issue with the brush bar, it isn't China, it's what Ineos spec'd, which wouldn't say much for Ineos, would it?

Now, If you look at the prices for NON Grenadier parts, I'd be more wary of the "Grendier" tax. A well built hidden winch mount for a 200 series is 700 dollars. even if you use a 1000 dollar comeup you're at 1700 dollars. One could try to argue there's more volume, but, companies like Cross Edge Fabrication aren't exactly international conglomerates. If you want to assume more expensive is better, you can just as easily assume someone is making 50% a unit, not 300%.
