My Trialmaster is in with my service centre for software updates. I have been informed that one of the front suspension springs is broken and requires replacement! The vehicle has now done 12000 miles and never seriously off roaded, so I was quite taken aback. Has anyone had a similar experience? Tony

Not on my Grenadier. But my workshop says that cases of broken springs have been increasing for a few years. He said the reason was "more and more springs are being made in China from Chinese steel derivatives", as he put it.

Allegedly the Grenadier has "Eibach" springs. But I don't know where they are produced.

Such a rapid breakdown could be caused by bad seating of the spring which generates high stresses and fast fatigue. Or a material problem.
I very much doubt if off-road driving would make any difference on road spring life.
In any case should be covered by warranty.
