Battery terminals under the hood

Has anyone found the negative terminal in the engine compartment? I have an air compressor that uses alligator clips to hook on to the battery. I have found the positive terminal, but can't locate a negative terminal. Do you have to pull up the rear seat to operate equipment like that? This would also be an issue if you were trying to jump start a friend's car with the Grenadier as the donor.

Asked and answered several times but it's not easy to locate via a search without the magic keywords.
The negative side connects to the lifting ring on the front of the engine.
Example here with a pic.

Sooo to eliminate any confusion from what looks like contradictory answers, @Rok_Dr's guide mentions both methods - the lifting ring or the stud shown. Choose your own adventure.

The lift ring or bolt works equally well so choose what you prefer. Just know that the bolt is a direct to body ground where the lifting eye finds its path to ground through grounding strap(s) attached between the engine and body/chassis.

I used the bolt to install a CTEK charging lead/monitor as it was easy to attach to.

As posted earlier, I attached two of the same CTEK leads, directly to the battery terminals on both of my trial masters batteries.
I went along this route just so I can see the difference in each battery charge.

That's it, Doc. The little unmarked bolt just forward of the positive terminal.
