ASPW wants a Grenadier

He seems to make videos for exactly the opposite I watch them for. He's up for the 'journey' I'm watching because of the product and it's development/succes-failures.

To be fair he has mentioned recently that he knows all this. (market place/number of views not just me!)

But yep, just buy one like all of us are trying to do....

Remember that he is running a business not an education programme.
He needs to get people to click on to watch his video's, subscribe, like/dislike and stay on for as long as possible.
Encouraging people to make comments, both positive and negative, keeps them on his channel for longer.
The more controversial he is the more people are likely to make a comment and hit the like/dislike buttons.
The more people will share his video's encouraging other people to click on them and so forth.
It's all just about money and one way that he pays for his life style.

Why is it that 4x4 24/7 and Ronny Dahl have so many more subscribers and views? Better actual adventures? More engaging personalities? A better business model?
Or all 3?
Self-aggrandisement is never appealing, though one of my son's classmates once told him "it's not arrogant if ya good..."

Could also be because South Africans can come across a bit strong for Aussies and the other channels are a bit more relaxed and less full of bullshit

He is begging for everything and doesn't have a clue where he is going until he sees the begging results and then can budget...motoring and touring journalist who hasn't been invited to do a review of the Grenadier, maybe says a lot... I wonder if he doesn't get his way, he drops onto his back a throws his arms and legs into the air...I can see it now;)...happy motoring

He's actually English. Maybe the combination....
I haven't connected with any of his builds. Perhaps he should specialise in modded EV scooters for the elderly , given his Victor Meldrew like rantings!
Or just settle into a quiet Attenborough like demeanour , highlighting the natural world he scoots about in.

I don't understand at all why he talks about money, but on the other hand thinks about equipping a Toyota. I guess the difference is not that big?

So - he still hasn't got a response from INEOS for a cheap "test" Grenadier but he really wants a Grenadier but hasn't got quite enough $$ but what is the $$ difference between a land Cruiser 76 or 78 and the Grenadier that he wants?

It can't be that much price difference in the stock vehicle as he wants to "build it up"

Surely he paid for that last LC, even if everything subsequently bolted to it was marketing grift? Toyota have zero reason to give anything away.

Even if parts were "cheap" , the labour costs must have been significant.

Dave, very well made point and the reason, I won't watch him. Plus, I am sure INEOS will just ignore him.

Being better is no longer a guarantee for more success these days. When I see which TV shows and YouTube videos are at the top of the lists, I can only conclude that the more undemanding the content, the more subscribers you have.

If one of us at school didn't get a point or was unable to follow the lesson, my latin (and english) teacher used to say "Give me hamburgers and television, huh?"

ASPW must surely be able to afford a Grenadier. His last Toyota build must have been in the $200k aussie range. He wont have to do much to the grenadier, especially seeing how new it is. Videos would get lots of views for it just being new and exciting.

He might be able to finance one himself but he just doesn’t want to. His self-image is the one of a journalist in some ways who does test and write for the information of others. So he does not want a present but is not willing to pay neither.
It’s like getting a free sample to test it with your customers.
Buying one will not be possible for him for another reason. He is to late…
If he would order now his efforts would not be very worthy as there will be plenty of reviews in some weeks.
I do understand his needs and I surly liked some of his videos but I perceive him a little bit lost in his own past which is more sad than funny.
