I'd like to have the volume control panel on top as it's easily the most used control, and the a/c panel moved below it. It has the BMW auto climate and I usually just set it at 72 and hardly ever change it.
I always use the volume control buttons on the steering wheel and like you rarely change the temperature setting (22 degrees)I'd like to have the volume control panel on top as it's easily the most used control, and the a/c panel moved below it. I am in Australia so CelsiusFahrenheit, Celsius, Kelvin? degrees ...
True, as you probably drive on the right side. Which means you steer with your right hand most of the time? The volume is on the right side of the steering. So for you it makes sense, but as a left hand driver, my right hand isn't always on the steering wheel. Yeah but Armadillo's are fairly slow moving so little need to take sudden evasive maneuversI live in Texas, most roads are straight and flat easy enough to drive one handed, usually with my elbow resting on elbow rest. BMW must think the same way as the knob for the radio/info usually falls right in your hand at the resting position. Don't know about the Gerny as I haven't driven one.
Interesting question looking at the panel I suspect in theory the top and bottom panels might be anle to be swapped the middle panel looks to have different spacing for the screws, although maybe the screw holes are there hidden behind the panel bit there are switches in those positions. So I think it will depend in the wire length and connection types and speace behind as to how easy that is, but assuming you just unscrew, unplug, pull the plugs up and down to the new position ls and plug back in and scree back it, it might be doable without too much hassleI'd like to have the volume control panel on top as it's easily the most used control, and the a/c panel moved below it. So you nickname should be 'fossil'.I am one of those crazy old drivers that prefers to have both hands on the wheel 95.87523% of the time
Rarely use cruise control either so right foot always on the pedal.
I saw a good video from a gearbox specialist showing the damage done to manual gearbox by people who drive with their hand resting on the gearstick.
I am also constantly scanning front, sides and back
The command dial is there for when you can't use the touchscreenHey guys, after my test drive, I changed my mind. The volume knob isn't as inaccessible as I feared. The command dial, I think they should just get rid of it all together. Although the presenter said that all the buttons on the dash are sealed and are water resistant. He said, don't break them as they're expensive to replace because of it.
Doesn’t seem as critical for most of us Australians who would pretty much never drive with gloves on. But the whole idea was so that all functions can be accessed with gloves on so the touchscreen really doesn’t work for that hence the control knob. The command dial is there for when you can't use the touchscreen
Or just don't want to

The touch screen is disabled in the wife's Fiat 124 Spider when the vehicle is in motion, allegedly for safety reasons. And you have to use the command dial. Annoying
