I recently purchased a pair of off-road pod lights to be bumper mounted and wired to the 10 amp under hood/bonnet wires. The kit comes with a relay, battery terminal connectors and a toggle switch. Clearly i don't need all of this given the prewiring. the total draw will only be less than 6 amps total for both. Do i need to install the relay then tothe factory 10 amp wires or can i remove the relay supplied in the kit and wire directly to the 10 am factory wires? thanks for any info.

Yes you can.
Just check the start up current or max current as well as the running current.
