Am looking to replace my factory winch line. Not sure if I need to try to buy directly from Red Winches, or can use any aftermarket line I want as long as its the correctly length.

Has anyone replaced the rope on the factory winch rope? Mine got jammed on an angle pull moving a tree, and chewed the rope up. It looks like I could perhaps remove the fairlead to gain sufficient access.... does anyone know if nuts behind the hex bolts are captive?
