    I’ve had the same rattling noise for about 45,000 km. It’s caused by the ball joints on the lever. As soon as I lightly rest my hand on it, the noise stops. I’ve checked everything and tried fixing it, but like I said, in my case it’s the small joints on the cables.

    You and CVH should count yourselves lucky only getting the whine when off road. Like the Baron I can get noise regardless of terrain. I find it is particularly noticeable when light coloured trousers are being worn. A problem that I don't think Amazon can cure for £20.

    No change in fuel consumption for me and no change in sound prior to failure. Just an almighty noise when it failed. Firstly a loud bang and then the loud noise of the prop thrashing around until I came to a stop. I’ve had front pinion seal changed and still have a slight weep also.

    My windscreen wiper relais under the rear seats also made this clicking noise every time the wiper moves. This noise disappeared after a while of using the wiper and never came back. Maybe these bosch relais need to wear in. Just be patient.

    Grenadier is the only vehicle on sale with a fully gear driven transfer case, and unless if you have owned a LR Discovery 2 or earlier LR product, probably the only gear driven transfer case vehicle you've ever driven. They make some noise - it is normal.

    Very annoying fan noise from level 4

    Yes, my 23 Grenadier had the high pitch noise on fan setting 4 from day 1. I simply avoid using setting 4. Most of the time setting 2 does the job, occasionally I go to setting 3. I live in Queensland Australia so I only ever need cooling, usually set to 22 degrees.

    The rubber floor is very dense and well shaped, would think they are the equal of carpet in terms of noise dampening. Plus you can put additional carpet mats on top.

    There should be no whine noise to be honest. Just some faint humming. I have no modifications or sound deadening and it’s a 23 model. I would check if the transfer Bowden cable isn’t rubbing against the propshaft and try go in 4 low to see if it’s loosens up some tension in the box.

    The issue would be the reduced ground clearance, noise and a method to reinforce the t/case to stop cracking. To keep the same output rotation it would have to be a three gear design or chain drive for reduced noise.

    Good point, it could be the shaft. I did have the front axle jacked up and tested it. Not as loud as with weight on wheels, but the noise was still there. Going to disconnect the stabilizer tomorrow to rule that out as well.
