    I tightened the coupling rods (front axle) yesterday which had become loose creating a clunking noise going over small obstacles. The bolts/nuts of the wishbones (also front axle) had become loose as well creating a strange noise at slow speed as well.

    I was alone and rocking the steering back and forth about 1/2" right-left-right. The noise lingers after the steering wheel stops as shown in the open hood vid. When it stopped, I went back and just rotated the steering wheel once about an inch and the noise started back right away.

    I changed the damper to one from Ironman 4X4 which is very light and did not really notice a difference in the noise levels, but I did not really have an issue with the noise level before hand. It is there if I listen for it, but not at an annoying level.

    If you listen closely you will hear the pump when in operation. Is shoukd less that the engine noise. But if the PS pump noise is the dominant sound you can hear equal to or greater that the engine then you have dud pump.

    We call them kids in Australia. :) One possibility is loose heat shields under the car being vibrated. My rattles sounded internal when they were in fact from under the car. My heat shields would rattle at low speeds. Once they were adjusted problem solved.

    Good to hear it settled down for you. How many K's did that take? You can hear it across the street and when driving up to about 40kph. It's not totally obnoxious, but definitely noticeable. It's probably the high-pitched squeal that's annoying rather than the volume.

    Thank you members: My Grenadier , pictures and light upgrades after 40.000KM.

    UPGRADE ON K03 AFTER 6000Km: 1/ The noise disappeared very quickly after 2/300KM. 2/ 0,8 to 0,7 litter of gasoil LESS than the K02 to the 100KM, with 1 size MORE! (275 versus 265) If i knew that before i would have choose 285. Good job BF! Impressive.
