ADAS experiment

This seems like a lot of unnecessary effort to accomplish the same thing as one button press and one screen tap
So what are you going to do when you have a hole in your touch screen from using it every time you start your truck. 😂

A solution is 100% worth my time and money. You know there are people that button their shirts in just a certain way just to save time. The effort spent pushing 2 buttons (assuming it works the first time) is not negligible. You could argue you have nothing better to do though. I personally wait until the truck clicks at me since it rarely works right when I just stat the truck. Taking my focus off driving to find that little button on the touch screen is borderline enough for me to hit a pedestrian stepping into the road.

Bruh this is not a cartoon. You can’t just place something on the windshield to fool the camera like we are in Looney Tunes.

My ADAS never picked up the road signs. It was only running from the stored data, which in my area is completely incorrect. Last week’s update fixed my camera’s ability to read signs. This in itself eliminated alerts when I really do drive within the speed limit.

lol no.. that won’t work.

Focus distance of the lens will ensure it’s blurry to the camera. Plus the fact that the system is not programmed to detect a big ass speed sign taking up the entire field of view
But do we know that! lol maybe it would work. We’re assuming the camera crew did some sort of good work

i am 99% certain it won’t work. Ineos electronics subcontrators appear to do MVP (minimum viable product) level work.
There is no requirement for the camera to have a tremendously wide depth of field ( shit’s in focus from the range of 1/4” to dozens of feet away). The camera is not focusableI am 100% sure.

In addition to camera’s optical limitations, the presumably piss poor computer vision algorithm that’s in the IG, is guaranteed to not be tuned to recognize a giant speed sign taking up the camera’s field of view

Would be hilarious tho.. if someone shares with IA their attempt at pasting a micro-translucent speed sign to the windshield.

Should make IA extremely proud.. their product is at the apex of human achievement. 🫡

I do need to see if the camera input into the headunit is a video signal. If so, I imagine a Rube Goldberg contraption where you feed into the head unit a looping video of driving by a 90mph speed sign, to fool the Adas

I want to try this. Maybe once it gets above 0F outside and I can clean the Gren…
