General Motors banned from sharing customer location and behaviour

Those sorts of people drive 50 year old fourbies. Ask me how I know ;)
I pulled into a car wash in 2017 and this guy was high pressure washing the boot and rear seats.
Not suspect at all.

Call me old fashioned but I'm not too concerned about anyone knowing where I am or what I'm buying.

"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear." This is a new fashioned attitude though. Go back even 20 years and tell an average person that in the future almost everyone will carry a GPS tracker with them and have microphones installed in their house that listen to their private conversations. They would assume you were living in a totalitarian nightmare. The level of mass surveillance in our countries makes 1984 look quaint.

Back on topic, I would be extremely surprised if Ineos is getting live telemetry from our cars. There's no known telemetry module, I haven't signed a privacy policy letting them do that, and I don't think they're even interested in data as a company.

Apple/Google are getting your location if you use CarPlay/Android Auto, but you can't win 'em all and most of us have made our peace with that.
