Since I couldn't find an after-market ski rack for my Grenny, I decided to repurpose a traditional rooftop ski rack to place it onto the ladder. I'm happy with the results. I had to add some extenders to move it further from the ladder to make room for the bindings. (Those extenders were part of an old aluminum flag pole I had lying around... hah!)

Nice to see another Grenadier owner with a AT ski setup. I recently switched to AT after 40 years of tele skiing, my knees just couldn't take it anymore lol.

Having the skis in back is definitely the way to go - I bought the RR bars and ski rack from my Ineos dealer and then played around with it a bit and realized it wasn’t great - it’s just a really tall truck, you get a bunch of wind noise blah blah. Nicely done.

Thanks! I agree, even if I had the roof clearance for a rooftop rack, it’s a long way to lift up the skis and secure them in a rack. I hadn’t thought about the noise - definitely another downside to the roof option.

Nice work on the rack. Have to acknowledge the choice in triple camber as my quiver is mainly a Deathwish and Ghost Train.

Nice work but probably the worst place to mount skis. Your bindings will hate you. Between the road grime, salt/deicer and corrosion I'd highly encourage you to keep them clean, lubricated and test the release. Not worth blowing out a knee.

Definitely agree and keep mine in boxes or inside, otherwise a mess. Believe he’s only going a short distance with this in mind.

I’m really liking the ladder mount. The Grenadier is taller, and I haven't thought about the practicality of getting the skis up on the roof rack though it hasn’t been a problem in the past. I bought the Front Runner ski carrier but haven’t mounted it yet. I expect I can figure out a way to get it to work with the Leitner rack, but now I’m thinking I should adapt it for the ladder.

Not as creative as your solution - but I found this - they don’t have a US distributor so I just ordered direct from an Italian dealer

If anyone orders this, you’ll need to enter your tire size in the cable extension calculator and order the extensions as well
