Not a big issue, but the steel wheels might look a bit more together if they didn’t have the plain steel studs and bolts in them. I guess there are wheel nut covers. Anyone use them on their steelies? Do they affect balance?

If not, I was thinking of 3D printing some, that way if I lose them, I can make some for $0.50 or so. What is the bolt size and thread of the studs? I was thinking about a conformal cover for the nut part, that would be held on by a threading part on the stud.

Thoughts?

Why not just buy some black lug nuts?
That's kind of what got me started. I saw something on OWL's website, but I think they were for another style? Do lug nuts have different 'interfaces' with the rim- domed, or not? Or does the domed relate to covering the stud?

Yes, the “seat” type should be matched as well as the thread/pitch.

I've 3D printed lug not covers. One dimension that seems to vary a bit is how much of the wheel bolt stud is exposed past the wheel nut, on steel wheels. MIne is mostly about 8mm proud of the nut.

Could people measure how proud of the nut the studs are?

No one willing to post their tip to nut distance?

Here’s what I did to cover the center of the wheel and the lugs.

I spotted the Mercedes covers a while ago but never followed up with an order mainly because I wasn’t sure if they would fit.
I might have to have a shop now…

Interesting on the cover. What holds it on? Friction?

I can only find ones with the MB logo/star on them?

Here is my 3Dprinted solution.

I’ll probably use these until I get new tires and then go with black nuts.

Why not just buy a packet of black lug nuts from Agile?
