Fox Steering stabilizer installed

Just installed the Fox Steering Stabilizer from Agile Offroad. Easily worth the under $300 and 20minutes of your time you’ll spend this week. Not perfect but leaps and bounds better than the stock stabilizer.

1) “firmer” more fluid, but firm, feel in steering.

2) slightly less slop in steering (would like that slight slop from left to right totally gone but for under $300 this is a solid improvement)

3) turning radius seems improved, maybe to it being able to expand farther?

4) generally more solid feeling while driving

5) i wouldnt say it self centers now but it corrects much smoother

Just a few points

#1 is interesting as the Fox damper is substantially softer than OEM, not firmer; this is what makes it "better" for on road (less dampening, and thus wheel movement) but "worse" off road (more jostling through the steering over uneven surfaces and bumps)

#3 The turning radius can't actually be improved from a damper as full lock rests on the steering stops with the OEM damper as well

1) maybe “firmer” isnt the right description. Maybe more modern? It just flows back into place better….

3) i dunno man haha im just reporting what i think im observing. Its only been on for a day. I have not measured a before and after so i cant claim a measurement to validate my statement. Maybe its because it just feels smoother so my turn is more efficient feeling….kinda wish i had measured it because i didnt expect it would feel like it was turning tighter….

Either way for a few bucks and 20min i would do it again in a heartbeat 🤷🏽‍♂️

Are there any issues voiding warranty by doing this?
You would void the warranty on the OEM steering stabilizer since it has been replaced.... Following the Magnuson-Moss Act, the dealer would have to prove that the repair being performed under warranty was due to a modification that was non-factory. So, effectively, if you have a problem with the steering system, they could point out the aftermarket stabilizer as a culprit of that and deny warranty; however, if you had a rear wheel bearing failure, they could not deny warranty status because of the steering stabilizer.

In actuality, it really depends on your dealer and the relationship you have with them. Across a variety of brands I have come across technicians that couldn't care less about aftermarket parts and others that will work through every irrational possibility to deny warranty work because of alterations to a vehicle.

Cool, I'm going to install my fox damper from agile over the weekend. Really interested to see how it turns out.

Are there any issues voiding warranty by doing this?
I have had some vehicles where the manufacturer bent over backwards to try and say my aftermarket parts caused x,y,z issues when they were clearly unrelated. In this case, I would just keep the factory unit and reinstall it if I had to take it in for suspension or steering issues. Well worth the 30 minutes for piece of mind knowing you are avoiding any warranty issues.

I just installed mine. Took the truck for a quick drive afterwards. Steering was a little lighter but nothing earth shattering. It will still track to the left or right somewhat
if you don’t center the wheel. Maybe there is a little bit of a break in period. I didn’t go on any highways or above 30mph .

Easy peasy install.

If anyone wishes to get a feel for what the different dampers are doing and how much they are doing it, I suggest removing the stock damper then take it for a spin around the neighborhood.
Then install the aftermarket damper and compare the 3 set-ups.

Justin Hocevar, the Asia Pacific (Australian) boss of Ineos has said pretty much what you have as far as modification impacting warranty.
He said they would look at the problem, then look at the modifications, to see if the modifications contributed to the problem.
If they don't then the warranty still stands.
He also pointed out the vehicle is designed intentionally to allow and encourage the owner to modify it.
