I see your point too. Clearance is reducing. It takes about 12" plus the space from the rack itself. On the other hand, the swing arm would give me the freedom to fully operate the tailgate.
Mine is 9" extension and 4.25" rise. The 1Up tray sits level with the top of the Gren's tires.

I switched to this pin. It locks out the wobble without the need for additional clamps. It is awkward to install on the Gren hitch, so hopefully that complicates theft.
I have a Kuat NV 2.0. I bought the kuat extender and everything clears. Works great.I can tell you that my kuat bike rack does not clear the rear wheel. I tried it for the first time last weekend when I was going for a ride with my son.
I cannot fold it up on the back of the grenadier and it does not fit 2 bikes when lowered, only 1. I suspect these racks are very similar dimensions.
Had to revert to our model X for carrying 2 bikes in tow
