Ultimate9 Releases Remote Digital Dash Speedometer:
IMG_1006.jpeg

For US$55, Ultimate9 sells a wireless digital speedometer that uses a wireless OBDII dongle to read the vehicle computer data in a small footprint that can be placed above the warning light cluster.

I’m still hoping Ineos will incorporate something similar in the next refresh of the Grenadier - the 2025’s show no changes to date.

But, can it sound an overspeed warning beep when you pass by a “25 MPH Speed Limit When Children Are Present” sign while you are driving at the normal limit?

All this angst over no speedo behind the wheel.

I’ve often thought a HUD would be handy, as I’ve liked a HUD in vehicles I’ve driven before with one, but not a single time I’ve driven my grenadier have I wished it had a speedo in the traditional location behind the wheel.

I'm ok with speedo on the screen, but I need my reading glasses to read anything on it. This dedicated speedo looks like its the right size.

Why waste the money, my phone sits in a holder right by the steering wheel and I downloaded the Speedometer app from Apple. In big font it gives me my speed for free !!

I don’t feel the need for it half the time but when I do it’s there if I need it. Personally I don’t see the need for anything but the current screen, but each to their own.

Initially I was unsure of the current set-up being in the center. But over the past few months, I have become a fan of it over the traditional placement of the speedometer. In fact, in the evening, I am an even bigger fan of the current set-up. It gives me a broader view of the road ahead. This is one accessory I am going to have to dismiss for my IG

You guys who don’t need it are not my wife :/
From what I can tell, women are MORE adept, and better adapted at using mirrors than men.

I see no reason this skill set cannot be employed for backing up a car.

You have not met some of my female friends. They are Terrible at using the mirrors for reversing. 😂😂

Adam, on a side note, curious what you did with your LR’s. You mentioned that you were getting ready to rebuild one then bought the IG instead.

I still have 1993 NAS #66 - it's sitting in limbo at a paint shop at the moment. I need to get the project restarted...

same. I find this on the same level as "needing" a rear view camera / mirror replacement.
Fair observation. I'm on that slippery slope trying to sort out a G900 windscreen mount for my MY23 non-ADAS mirror, which is different to the US mount arm.
But why do I need it? Because I tow a camper and often reverse into remote sites so the rear view is beneficial (and secondary to my wife's best guiding attempts..). I was going to add a tow camera to my Grenadier but instead of having another screen I'm going down the same path as @bakepl and fitting a 2nd rear camera and a TPDT 9 pin switch so I can select which rear camera is active in the G900: Grenadier rear window or the rear of the camper. So it's a tick from me for a replacement mirror but for a specific purpose.

When you get pulled over and the cop asks you how fast you were going - tell him you didn't know because a popup ad for a casino game blocked your phone.

Yes gave up on finding a replacement mount. Found ones similar but not identical. Mirror just needs to sit a little lower from the air bag warning light on the non adas vehicles for it to swing up a little more. Cable location on the G900 prevents this. I have a usb-c angle adaptor on the way and will see how that goes.
