Apologies for delay in reply. The Wolfbox looks about 90% OEM even when secured with its rubber bands. I keep thinking on how to make it look 100% OEM. A work in progress.
This is the rear view on my Wolfbox 900. Last cleaned it a week ago. Have coated the lens with RainX. My camera is on the roof. Weather here in UK is currently very wet and cold.
Boom, so we get the old school optical mirror default setting when the electronics dint cut the mustard.

Does the Defender rear view camera not have a little hood on it that possibly helps reduce the crud collection?I was poking around a while ago and found this company. It looks very much like what’s in my ND.

I haven’t done any more research beyond finding the website but if it’s not cost prohibitive and available to the public, it might be a good option.
FWIW, My experience has been that a roof mount is the way to go. I’ve driven around in the ND this winter where the rear glass is completely covered with snow or mud but the rear view camera is unaffected. I have noticed that rain doesn’t really affect the view. Snow obviously has to be removed, as well as, when things ice over but gently removing ice from a small lens is much easier than scraping away an entire rear window
Hi Cheshire cat, I have a ND and the lens is just tucked back a bit in the housing, however not to the point you would call it a hood. My experiences are the same as Jiman01 in that I rarely have to clean the lens and when I do if takes less then 2 seconds. DaBull

I have the tinted window package on my field master I wonder if that’s going to be an issue with the rear camera mounted inside. Anybody have any experience?
Yes. Not in my opinion.
During the day it is fine, can be a little dark at night.
My rear window is tinted from the factory and aftermarket. Here's what the camera feed looks like (fast forward for night):
