My valves also have plastic caps.I think we've all read that Ineos have fitted metal tyre valves as they think they are more robust for off road use; but my question is are they fitted with metal dust caps?
I thought they were but mine appear to be plastic, can people check and confirm what they have?

They look like standard BMW TPMS valves with the sender on the inside of the rim. Identical to my X5I think we've all read that Ineos have fitted metal tyre valves as they think they are more robust for off road use; but my question is are they fitted with metal dust caps?

Come on, lets exercise a bit of taste pleaseClass your truck up with these bad boys:
Right, I'll remember to tell Lotus that next time I'm at the factory; and the numerous military vehicles that come with them as standard.No one uses metal as it might corrode on the stem and make it hard to take off.
Can't remember why but when using metal valve caps ( after he cut mine off) the tyre fitter said don't use copper grease but put vaseline on them.Right, I'll remember to tell Lotus that next time I'm at the factory; and the numerous military vehicles that come with them as standard.
If your valve caps are corroded to your valve stems, then it means you are a lazy bastard and not checking your tyre pressures as often as you should...a chargeable offence where I'm from.
The US has varied climate. And some parts use salt/chemicals on roads. That's why most manufacturers have switched to plastic caps. Even high end ones.I'll remember to tell Lotus that next time I'm at the factory;
Thanks ~ I'm happy with the OEM ones, the question was more around my poor memory.$10 or less on eBay will get you a set of anodised metal caps
But, if my dodgey dice are weighted (“loaded”), will I have to get the wheel rebalanced?Class your truck up with these bad boys:
