I read somewhere the Safari windows were a point of contention that L@nd Rover took Ineos to court over, the placement of the Grab Handles was a concession to LR to ease the whole legal process to a satisfactory end.
Correct, that's the term LR has always used - even back in the Series days.
Along with the Tropical roof.
Which was awesome. I had one on my SII and it really did keep the interior temp down and the vents helped funnel air into the cabin. Between the front vents, trop top and vents, side windows open and the door top windows removed, it was nice to drive around in one warmer days.
I thought the issue was over the Alpine windows and not the safari windows.
