Come out and get you Grenadier dirty!!!

There are trails for ALL SKILLS LEVELS from Beginners to Expert.

This is also a self guided and also a self insured event, but we will keep groups together.

All persons entering the park must sign a waiver. Waivers are available at the park gatehouse, or you can print it and bring it with you to save time. We are urging everyone to go online and purchase your Park Pass at https://www.cityofbridgeport.net/322/Northwest-OHV-Park In ADVANCE to keep the waiting time to a minimum.

Our group will be meeting just inside the guard gate at 10:00 AM SHARP.

Please DM me with any questions.

Well certainly not a fully sanctioned Texas Group trip but I'm dying to get my tires dirty and practicing getting into low and offroad mode. The 4x4 park close to Houston doesn't open till next weekend. A Subaru offroad enthusiast friend and I had planned to go to a spot he's been to by Bastrop this Sat the 6th. Now he can't go but I'm still going to try as do-able day trip and find the place. I have the location I can post if anyone wants to meet up. I'll be in green Grenny idling reading the manual. :)

Supposedly public road right of ways for a development / improvements that didn't happen or going to happen. Here's what I have for location. Private message me if you want to trade details.

Bastrop trails were good. Not too technical but enough that we got out and looked at a couple of spots before we tried them. My nerve will falter before the vehicle does. I wanted to wait until I acquired some recover gear beyond the winch before I went out and got muddy but certainly not needed this past Saturday. The Grenny barely even ramped up the engine noise going over what I thought were serious conditions I know my Tundra wouldn’t make. Very happy with the performance of the wagon. I got experience changing from high to low and locking the center dif and wading mode. I managed to get a red light warning by not doing the rear dif lock correctly which snowballed into disabling me from enabling wading mode. Had to let the wagon sit for 30+ minuets as the forum described for warning to reset. Luckily we did our waiting eating BBQ so no problem there. My buddy has the more dramatic video and once us old folks figure out how to get large videos from his phone to my computer I’ll post. Here are a few images. User induced error lights aside, a very fun day.

And two more images to add to the ‘cup holder’ discussions. If you can fit a Chick-Fil-A and / or a Buc-ees Large cup the cup holders will work in Texas. Don’t have a Whataburger image but yes I’ve tested that as well. Rear seat passenger are on their own.
