So I booked the Gren into Marshalls last Friday to have them take a look at some snagging issues on the new vehicle (1,000 miles in). I sent them a list of stuff I wanted looked at and requested that it was inspected/fixed under warranty:
Rubber strip above windscreen had become unstuck from body - This was taken off and then freshly glued back down
Front left corner bumper was a poor fit with wheel arch trim - This was dismantled and then reassembled with everything lining up properly
Aircon had a mind of its own - System was flushed and seems to be behaving itself. The mechanic said that the 'heat box' was mounted quite high up over the engine which meant it was susceptible to air locks
Infotainment system was buggy and didn't display correct DAB station - Marshalls installed a software update which should have been done prior to delivery at Grange Ineos Edinburgh. Now works as it should.
Harsh drivetrain vibration between 1800-2000rpm - Known issue with Diesel models but they tweaked all the heatshields under the car and it's far better
Light/vague steering on centre - All steering linkage connections we checked for tightness and it appears this is as good as it gets (was compared to another Gren in the yard and characteristics were identical)
I dropped the Gren off for 8am and was given a courtesy Vauxhall Corsa for the day. The vehicle was ready for pick up at 5pm with all work done and apologies that they didn't have time to give it a wash!
Overall, a 5 star service from Marshalls and another star lost for Grange Edinburgh for not completing the PDI properly.
